An International Customer Visit

International buyer delegation at Saga Elastomer rubber manufacturing plant near Mumbai India reviewing extrusion and quality control facility

In July 2023, Saga Elastomer hosted international buyers at its rubber manufacturing facility near Mumbai, India. A Saga Elastomer plant visit gives overseas procurement teams direct access to the extrusion lines, quality control lab, compound testing equipment, and the documentation trail behind every product that leaves the facility.

What a Saga Elastomer Plant Visit Covers

International buyers typically visit Saga Elastomer’s Mumbai-area plant at one of three stages: before placing a first order, during qualification of Saga as an approved supplier, or when expanding an existing product range. The visit covers four areas:

Extrusion and moulding lines: Saga operates multiple extrusion lines producing rubber profiles, seals, gaskets, and custom-section components across EPDM, silicone, neoprene, nitrile, natural rubber, SBR, and TPE/TPV compounds. Buyers inspect line setup, die condition, and cross-section dimensional consistency during a live run where possible.

Compound mixing and verification: Raw compound batches are mixed in-house to specified hardness grades. Buyers can review compound batch records, hardness test results to ASTM D2240, and physical property test data including tensile strength and elongation at break.

Quality control documentation: Saga holds ISO 9001:2015 certification. During a plant visit, buyers can review the quality management system, non-conformance records, and the inspection sign-off process from compound through to finished product dispatch. Material test certificates are issued to ASTM or ISO standards on request for all export orders.

Infrastructure and capacity: Buyers assess lead time feasibility, production scheduling, and warehouse capacity for repeat orders. Details on Saga’s physical infrastructure are on the Infrastructure page.

Why International Buyers Audit Rubber Suppliers in Person

For buyers sourcing custom rubber products from India, a plant visit reduces sourcing risk in three specific ways. First, it confirms that the facility can produce the required profile geometry and compound to tolerance — something a sample alone does not fully verify at scale. Second, it establishes a direct relationship with the technical team, which shortens the iteration cycle on custom drawings. Third, it gives procurement teams the documentation evidence required to register Saga Elastomer as an approved supplier in their internal systems.

Saga Elastomer currently supplies international buyers in the USA, UK, Gulf region, Singapore, Australia, and across Europe. The References page lists industries and regions served. For a video account from an international buyer, see the Scott Kennedy customer testimonial.

Arranging a Visit or Remote Audit

Buyers unable to visit in person can request a video walkthrough of the facility and a documentation pack covering ISO 9001 certificate, sample material test certificates, and current product range. Submit a request through the contact form or reach the team directly via the details listed there.

For bespoke rubber product enquiries requiring first article samples before a visit, Saga dispatches samples from approved drawings within the agreed lead time. The Our Team page lists the technical contacts who handle international accounts.
